(Reuters) - A Virginia woman found out on April 7 she won $1 million in a lottery drawing. And then she won again.
Virginia Fike of Berryville, Virginia, had the good luck to buy not one but two lottery tickets from a truck stop that both turned out to be $1 million winners, matching five of the six Powerball numbers. Lottery officials presented her with a $2 million check on Friday.

Congressional Country Club was established in 1924. A group of legislators met in 1921 and decided the best way to break down the barrier between them and the country was through the formation of a country club, and to invite as comembers, professional businessmen from around the country. Some of the original founding members include Calvin Coolidge, Warren Harding, Woodrow Wilson, William H. Taft, Harvey S. Firestone,
William C. Carnegie, William Randolph Hearst and Walter P. Chrysler.

Quail Hollow Hole #18: This is the last of a three hole stretch dubbed “The Green Mile” and is consistently one of the toughest finishing holes in golf. On the tee shot, players must avoid a bunker on the right, as well as a creek that meanders along the entire left side of the narrow fairway. An uphill second shot must avoid hazards on both sides of the green, which is deep and sloped. If a player must birdie this hole to win the tournament, he will definitely have his hands full.
********Royal flush: King Louis XIV of France (1643-1715, AKA: "The Sun King") is said to have withstood, or perhaps enjoyed, more than 2,000 enemas during his reign, sometimes while holding public court. I'll now always think of this guy as the "Enema King". What else distinguishes him historically? That kind of enema dedication earns this king a well-deserved seat on our Belly Gallery porcelain throne!
MAY DAY
Celts called it Beltane and the Romans named it Floralia, but May 1 has been known as May Day since the Middle Ages. In 1543, England built a Maypole that reached 100 feet, the country's tallest. Isaac Newton eventually purchased the pole in 1713 and used it to prop up a massive telescope. Worried that the rowdy festival made people frisky, the Catholic Church banned May Day celebrations in the early 1600s. The clergy wasn't the only group to point out May Day's sexual undertones: Several historians have suggested that the maypole is a phallic symbol. Every May Day, the town of Stilton, England, celebrates with a cheese-rolling contest. Costumed teams compete to roll a wooden "cheese" wheel down the city's main street to the finish line.

| Joe DiMaggio missed the first 16 games of his rookie season with the New York Yankees in 1936 with first degree burns on his left foot. He was stepped on during an exhibition game, and when the foot began to swell he was given treatment that included placing the foot in a diathermy machine. The heat control was improperly adjusted, burning the foot so badly that DiMaggio had to have two large blisters lanced and then spent two days in the hospital. He did come back to hit .323 with 29 home runs and 125 RBI. |

Nadia Suleman's "Snowman" Results in Bankruptcy LOS ANGELES | Mon Apr 30, 2012 10:49pm EDT LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The California mother of octuplets, dubbed "Octomom," filed for bankruptcy on Monday, after previously admitting she was on public assistance to support herself and her 14 children.Nadya Suleman, 36, gave birth to eight babies as a single mother in 2009. But goodwill turned to anger in the media after it was revealed Suleman had undergone fertility treatments when she already had six children, and questions were raised about her ability to provide for her family. Her children became only the second set of octuplets known to have survived birth in the United States. Suleman, who lives in the Southern California suburban community of La Habra, has less than $50,000 in assets and owes between $500,000 and $1 million, according to legal papers submitted to U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California and posted at entertainment website E! Online. | Suleman told ABC News last week that she had received $4,000 to $5,000 a month in public assistance. |
Brooklyn Man Impersonates Dead Mother to Collect Social Security Checks - FOR SIX YEARS!
(Reuters) - A man who impersonated his dead mother as part of a real estate scam - using lipstick, manicured nails and even an oxygen tank at a meeting - was convicted of fraud on Thursday and faces up to 83 years in prison, prosecutors said. Thomas Parkin, 51, was found guilty of 11 criminal counts, including charges of fraud, grand larceny, perjury and forgery for his scams. Along with the real estate fraud, Parkin and a partner cashed his mother's social security checks every month for six years, stealing about $44,000. The real estate scam centered on an apartment building in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn that Parkin's mother, Irene Pruskin, had deeded to her son in the 1990s. In January 2003, nine months before his mother died, Parkin was forced to sell the building at a foreclosure auction. Soon after, Parkin and another man, Mhilton Rimolo, 49, filed a fraud lawsuit against the building's new owner -under his dead mother's name.Parkin then doctored documents to make it appear that his mother was still alive, and even set up a meeting with the Brooklyn District Attorney's real estate fraud unit to discuss the matter. At the meeting, investigators from the fraud unit found "Parkin dressed as his 77-year-old mother, wearing a red cardigan, lipstick, manicured nails and breathing through an oxygen tank," prosecutors said on Thursday.Parkin is due to be sentenced on May 21. Rimolo, his partner in the fraud, previously pled guilty and was sentenced to three years in prison.

ATLIXCO, Mexico (Reuters) - Sex sells - at least that's what the ruling party candidate is hoping as she seeks to rescue her fading chances in Mexico's upcoming presidential election. Sitting well behind the frontrunner, Josefina Vazquez Mota of the National Action Party (PAN) has appealed to women voters to use their wiles to ensure their husbands vote on July 1. First she urged them on her Twitter account to withhold "cuchi cuchi", or hanky panky, for a month if the husbands don't vote. Then, challenged by a disgruntled man, she upped the ante on Monday. "Today a man wrote to me and said: Josefina, why the negative? What's the prize? Why not a month without hanky panky for those who don't come out to vote, and double rations for those who do?"

Buckeye Hall of Shame Nominee Art Schlichter
Ex-Ohio State (and Indianapolis Colts) QB Art Schlichter was sentenced
Friday to almost 11 years in prison for scamming people in a million-dollar
sports ticket scheme. The 52-year-old Schlichter is no stranger to the penal
system - the gambling addiction that ruined his NFL career landed him in
prison once before. In addition to the ticket scheme, U.S. District Court
Judge Michael Watson's sentence also included Schlichter's probation violation
on his prior forgery conviction in 1997). Good-time behavior might have him out after 9
years. Authorities say he promised college and NFL game tickets
to his customers, but stiffed them for thousands of dollars. He plead guilty in
the fall and was put on house arrest pending his sentencing. In January, he was
busted twice for testing positive for cocaine. Schlichter played at Ohio State from 1978-1981.
