Open Letter from the GolfGuruGuys to Diana Nyad, who failed to swim from Key West to Cuba for the 4th time
.
Please stop!  You didn't make it in 1978, you didn't make it twice last year & you're not going to make it now - even with your 5-boat escort & electronic shark deterrent equipment.  We just don't care & think your failed attempts to complete this swim are stupid.  You always get swept off course by the gulf stream, get bitten by squids & jelly fish, suffer from exhaustion, get all swollen up & quit before getting even 1/2-way there.  If you had put all this effort into golf, instead of nightmare swimming failures, you'd be appearing in the Belly Gallery - like Natalie Gulbis!

Crooked Stick #6.
'I can say this with no degree of modesty, I've been working on this course for 40 years, 50 years," Dye said last week by phone from that house off the
fairway in Carmel, Ind., north of Indianapolis. "But there's still 14 greens that are the same when I came in here."

Dye was an upstart architect in Indianapolis in 1967 when Crooked Stick opened, carved out of a cornfield after three years of stop-and-start building as club finances fluctuated. It was just his third design, after Indianapolis' Maple Creek Golf Club (still open as a public course on the city's east side) and Radrick Farms at the University of Michigan.

Five rules for men to follow for a happy life:

1. It's important to have a woman who helps at home, cooks from time to time, cleans up and is willing to
fulfill her role without undue complaining.
2. It's important to have a woman  who can make you laugh.
3. It's important to have a woman whom you can trust and who doesn't lie to you.
4. It's important to have a woman who is good in bed and who likes to be with you.
5. Finally, it's very, very important that these four women do not know each other.

Sincerely,  Tiger Woods

Quail Hollow Hole #18: This is the last of a three hole stretch dubbed “The Green Mile” and is consistently one of the toughest finishing holes in golf. On the tee shot, players must avoid a bunker on the right, as well as a creek that meanders along the entire left side of the narrow fairway. An uphill second shot must avoid hazards on both sides of the green, which is deep and sloped. If a player must birdie this hole to win the tournament, he will definitely have his hands full.

May Day, 1911 - Bryn Mawr, PA
MAY DAY
Celts called it Beltane and the Romans named it Floralia, but May 1 has been known as May Day since the Middle Ages. In 1543, England built a Maypole that reached 100 feet, the country's tallest. Isaac Newton eventually purchased the pole in 1713 and used it to prop up a massive telescope.  Worried that the rowdy festival made people frisky, the Catholic Church banned May Day celebrations in the early 1600s. The clergy wasn't the only group to point out May Day's sexual undertones: Several historians have suggested that the maypole is a phallic symbol.  Every May Day, the town of Stilton, England, celebrates with a cheese-rolling contest. Costumed teams compete to roll a wooden "cheese" wheel down the city's main street to the finish line.

PHONY DYING BRIDE ORDERED TO REPAY VICTIMS

(Reuters) - A New York bride who faked having terminal cancer to swindle well-wishers into funding her dream wedding and honeymoon to the Caribbean on Wednesday was ordered to repay more than $13,000 to her victims, prosecutors
said.  Jessica Vega, 25, pleaded guilty last month to fraud and forgery charges for deceiving people in the Hudson Valley area of New York into thinking she had only a few months to live, New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman said.  Moved by her tale, individuals and businesses donated thousands of dollars to pay for her wedding in May 2010 and her honeymoon in Aruba.

Nadia Suleman's "Snowman" Results in Bankruptcy
LOS ANGELES | Mon Apr 30,  2012 10:49pm EDT
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The California mother of octuplets, dubbed "Octomom," filed for bankruptcy on Monday, after previously admitting she was on public assistance to support herself and her 14 children.Nadya Suleman, 36, gave birth to eight babies as a single mother in 2009. But goodwill turned to anger in the media after it was revealed Suleman had undergone fertility treatments when she already had six children, and questions were raised about her ability to provide for her family. Her children became only the second set of octuplets known to have survived birth in the United States.  Suleman, who lives in the Southern California suburban community of La Habra,
has less than $50,000 in assets and owes between $500,000 and $1 million, according to legal papers submitted to U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California and posted at entertainment website E! Online.
Suleman told ABC News last week that she had received $4,000 to $5,000 a month in public assistance.

Brooklyn Man Impersonates Dead Mother to Collect Social Security Checks - FOR SIX YEARS!

(Reuters) - A man who impersonated his dead mother as part of a real estate scam - using lipstick, manicured nails and even an oxygen tank at a meeting - was convicted of fraud on Thursday and faces up to 83 years in prison, prosecutors said. Thomas Parkin, 51, was found guilty of 11 criminal counts, including charges of fraud, grand larceny, perjury and forgery for his scams. Along with the real estate fraud, Parkin and a partner cashed his mother's social security checks every month for six years, stealing about $44,000.  The real estate scam centered on an apartment building in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn that Parkin's mother, Irene Pruskin, had deeded to her son in the 1990s.  In January 2003, nine months before his mother died, Parkin was forced to sell the building at a foreclosure auction. Soon after, Parkin and another man, Mhilton Rimolo, 49, filed a fraud lawsuit against the building's new owner -under his dead mother's name.Parkin then doctored documents to make it appear that his mother was still alive, and even set up a meeting with the Brooklyn District Attorney's real estate fraud unit to discuss the matter. At the meeting, investigators from the fraud unit found "Parkin dressed as his 77-year-old mother, wearing a red cardigan, lipstick, manicured nails and breathing through an oxygen tank," prosecutors said on Thursday.Parkin is due to be sentenced on May 21. Rimolo, his partner in the fraud, previously pled guilty and was sentenced to three years in prison.

Jun  18, 2012 10:46pm EDT
ATLIXCO, Mexico (Reuters) - Sex sells - at  least that's what the ruling party candidate is hoping as she seeks to rescue  her fading chances in Mexico's upcoming presidential election.  Sitting well behind the frontrunner, Josefina Vazquez Mota of the National Action Party (PAN) has appealed to women voters to use their wiles to ensure their husbands vote on July 1.  First she urged them on her Twitter account to withhold "cuchi cuchi", or hanky panky, for a month if the husbands don't vote. Then, challenged by a disgruntled man, she upped the ante on Monday.   "Today a man wrote to me and said: Josefina, why the negative? What's the prize? Why not a month without hanky panky for those who don't come out to vote,  and double rations for those who do?"

Buckeye Hall of Shame Nominee Art Schlichter
Ex-Ohio State (and Indianapolis Colts) QB Art Schlichter was sentenced
Friday to almost 11 years in  prison for scamming people in a million-dollar
sports ticket scheme. The 52-year-old Schlichter is no stranger to the penal
system - the gambling addiction that ruined his NFL career landed him in
prison once before.  In addition to the ticket scheme, U.S. District Court
Judge Michael Watson's sentence also included Schlichter's probation  violation
on his prior forgery conviction in 1997). Good-time behavior might have him out after 9
years. Authorities say he promised college and NFL game tickets
to  his customers, but stiffed them for thousands of dollars. He plead guilty in
the  fall and was put on house arrest pending his sentencing. In January, he was
busted twice for testing positive for cocaine. Schlichter played at Ohio State from 1978-1981.

I am sure the watches are diamond studded. But, with this group, the clocks have to be " cuckoo " clocks.

The Bored of Misdirectors has convened & an emergency motion has been voted on & unanimously passed. Instead of cash prizes, we're giving out watches, alarm clocks, sun dials & calendars.

In the words of Tom Bell. Somebody get the Waaaambulance!!!!!!!

Don’t worry Sherm I was supposed to have first pick which means I should have had my pick in Sunday at 6:05pm just after the tournament ended. Hahaha!!!

Bozo Van Pelt got you a few points . . . Congratulations to Karl for picking a winner - You da' man! Even though Zach did the Wrightaroni ball-marking sleight-of-hand on the final hole. Nice to have a 3-stroke lead!

OK - This is the last pick I can find which is from Ricketts, submitted early, evidently due to being seasick & disoriented from battling the dangerous high seas of Lake Erie (only landlubbers voluntarily go out on Lake Erie, while knowledgeable fisherman chuckle, when the wind is blowing like it did yesterday!! DUH!!). Nothing from Mullaly? Also, I believe Belen had changed his pick a few times from golfers not entered in this tournament to a golfer actually in the field & his last pick was Toms, who Karl had picked (at 12:41) after Belen's Dufner choice. The Bored of Misdirector's ruling in this case is clear: Once a picker picks, the next picker can then pick. The scheduled picker may only change their original pick if the next scheduled picker has not yet picked. If the next scheduled picker picks, then the scheduled picker must then wait until all subsequent picks are in to alter their pick. So, if Karl picked Toms (or any other golfer) before Belen picked Toms, then Karl's pick stands (he gets Toms) & Belen must then wait until all scheduled picks are in to pick again.

In this case, it appears that Mullaly failed to submit a pick during his scheduled picking slot last night from 8:00-12:00 midnight. Ricketts jumped the gun & picked Laird before his turn but, unless Mullaly can prove otherwise, Ricketts' pick stands due to Mullaly not exercising his picking opportunity during his scheduled picking time slot. At this point, Ricketts' Laird pick luckily stands & Mullaly now picks last after Belen, who was moved to the end of the picking list prior to Mullaly.

The remaining picking order now is: Hively 12-4, Watson 4-8, Belen, Mullaly. Case closed.

Harrison Frazar, the St Jude defending champion, is in dead last place at +10. 7 of our selected golfers are on the cut line, or below . . . My pick, GMac, is the leader in that category at +5!

CUT = +8: A top-notch, shrewdly picked, professional golfer should be able to get under that gimmee cut line, right? 17-yr-old Beau Hossler (amateur kid golfer & 4.0 gpa high school junior) made it with 5 strokes to spare! Just sayin' . . .

D Johnson +9 CUT! - Ricketts
R McIlroy +10 CUT! - Williams
L Donald +11 CUT! - Hively

Mullaly-We of the working class do expect you of the retiree class to have updates waiting for us as we arrive for work. It is the least you guys can do.

Jones-I can’t believe Mullaly classifies himself as the working class. Haven’t we all seen him in action???

Belen-Action ? That requires some type of movement or ar least scratching yourself . . .

Mullaly-Hey, I scratch myself plenty and I got the moves like Jagger!

Bell-He is widely known for his Mullaly, Celtic, cutting edge, speed-of-light, state-of-the-art, old world Irishman scrotal scratching - mostly while snoozing though . . . C'mon!

Furyk Apologizes for Missed Cut

Jim Furyk admits he purposely bogied the 18th hole of the Canadian Open on Friday, to intentionally miss the cut by one stroke, due to "Mickelson golf fatigue" and "jet lag" from the British Open. Furyk's sponsor, 5-Hour Energy, announced plans to change their product name to "17-Hole Energy". Furyk apologized to the PGA, the Canadian Open, his sponsors, his fans and, in particular, furious GolfGuruGuys Fantasy Furyk golfer-pickerTom Bell.

Mathematically, with the leader (Watson) at 130 points & a maximum 22 points possible, ALMOST everyone still has a chance to win this thing........

Lee: I want to ask you a question... straight out, flat out... and I want you to give me an honest answer. What do you think the chances are?
Tom: Well Lee... that's difficult to say... you really don't...
Lee: Hit me! Just give it to me straight! I came a long way. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?
Tom: Not good.
Lee: [Gulps] You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Tom: I'd say more like... one out of a million.
Lee: So you're telling me there's a chance. Yeah!
